Buses
There is no charge for visitors to ride the campus
transit system, one of the largest and safest campus bus
systems in the nation. Buses operate only on days when classes
are in session. Hours of operation are from 6 a.m. until 1
a.m. Peak level of service are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30
p.m. Campus transit operates vans from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m.
that are equipped to provide curb-to-curb transportation service
for guests with disabilities. Services are provided by subscription
and on-demand for unscheduled trips. Schedules for campus
and Athens city routes are available at the Tate Student Center
information desk and the Visitors Center.
Special event and football parking
The safe and orderly accommodation of approximately 90,000
football fans requires a special allocation of parking resources
in the vicinity of Sanford Stadium. Some regular weekday parking
eligibility policies may be exempted during these special
events. Access to several streets and lots will be restricted
to vehicles bearing special parking passes.
General guidelines
1. There shall be no parking on sidewalks; ample parking is
available.
2. Parking services and/or the public safety division may
block off streets and parking areas as necessary for special
events or for construction purposes.
